Thanks to strong partnerships with a variety of funders and collaborators, we work to feed our community and support local farms through several different Grocery RX programs.
In partnership with the Kentucky Department of Agriculture Local Food Purchase Assistance (LFPA) program, our farm is piloting a program in spring 2024 to provide fresh food to the food pantry at Allen County Schools. We procure food for this program from other south central Kentucky farmers. This program will support our local farm economy while increasing our community’s access to fresh, healthy foods.
Through a partnership with the Allen County Extension Office, our farm provides fresh food boxes to 110 seniors in Allen County each month. We work with local farms to source proteins, fresh fruits and vegetables, and value-added food products for these boxes.
Thanks to funding from the Kentucky Department of Agriculture Local Food Purchase Assistance (LFPA) program, we provide monthly bushel boxes filled with locally sourced foods to eligible students and staff members at Bowling Green City Schools. We are grateful to our partners at BGISD, who have worked with us for more than a year to maintain and grow this program.

In partnership with WellCare and the Bowling Green Independent School District, our farm initiated a pilot program in 2024 to provide weekly fresh food boxes to qualifying households within the BGISD system that were referred to the program. Participants, who must receive Medicaid to qualify, receive enough food each week to feed everyone in their family. This project aims to track health outcomes when participants receive nutritious, fresh food on a weekly basis.
